HELL YEAH. You better try this spot. It's super bomb. Big ass sandwich, I get lock jaw eating a sandwhich. Salads are good but order yourself a nasty sandwich for lunch. You will thank me later my boy. Oh yeah and the service is pretty good also. Ambiance super casual no big deal

It was probably one of the best salads I've ever had! Simple but the ingredients were so fresh. For the price too- it was a hearty salad and packed in. Also, they were very quick to get the order out.

Not many places allow you to customize your salads/sandwiches to your liking but SCD does! Also their online ordering is a cinch. They always get it correct. I am thankful San Roque stays open until 6-better for parking and after work dinner runs. They are speedy and efficient. I usually carry out but have sat on the front porch in the past...great people watching. Thanks for being around SB for so long and being consistent and not growing TOO fast!

Great sandwiches and salads. I get the roast beef with horseradish, eggplant Sammie, Asian greens with chicken. Their cookies are surprisingly good. Their lemonade is worth getting. Order ahead if you can, lots of people do it for a quick pick up. Parking is around the side and back but it is narrow and limited. Tables outside for dining that are stroller friendly.

Mmmm YUM! Every element of this sandwhich was DELICIOUS. I can't decide if the bread or the meatballs were my favorite part. And you know you need quality bread for an epic sandwich. Let's also take a moment for the beautiful cheese pull. Kiddos on getting the cheese to a melty perfection. And the portion is so generous it was enough for two meals.

Took the family on a day trip to Santa Barbara but had no idea what we wanted for lunch. So I yelped "salads" for my wife and found this wonderful place. I always love a good sandwich, especially when they make amazing BLTs like they do here. Bacon was crispy, the sourdough crunchy, tomato and lettuce super fresh....and best of all was the basil mayo! That's what you call a food harmony. As for my wife, she got the kale salad and she thought it was the best kale salad she ever had. Everything tasted great but what she loved the most was that there wasn't any of the hard kale leaves in the salad (which she expected to have). It was super soft and super delicious she said. And the portion is huge! Lastly my son got his grilled cheese fix. Let's just say he ate it all and was happy. Besides the great food, the staff were very friendly. If you're ever in Santa Barbara and looking for an awesome sandwich and salad place, this place is worth a visit.

I have been going here since college and it is still at the top of my list for a healthy and quick bite! They have amazing salads that are unlike anything I've gotten anywhere else. I love the keep calm and kale on and the ocean spray salads! They are big, so one salad is enough for two people. They travel well too so my friends and I took some salads to go and ate them an hour later and they were perfect! The kale salad is also hefty and was great for leftovers the next day. The dressings are also amazing. They do have gluten free options for the sandwiches, but they don't recommend the gluten free bread with a lot of the sandwiches because they can't hold all the toppings and sauces. I wish they would get heftier gluten free bread. The service is always quick but not friendly. Which is why I usually get takeout. There isn't a great ambiance, so I would take it to go! Love these salads!

We were having a day trip in Santa Barbara last weekend and needed to stop by somewhere for some lunch before going up to the winery, and we came across South Coast Deli. Although I was not expecting much, this place was absolutely phenomenal. Sure the ambiance and service were very average, but I'm not looking for phenomenal customer service or a fancy ambiance when it comes to a deli, I am looking for the FOOD! We got a tuna sandwich, BBQ chicken sandwich, pesto basil caprese with chicken, and a caprese without chicken. Everything was extremely tasty, the panini's were toasted perfectly, the bread was of great quality, the portion amounts for protein were fantastic, and everything tasted extremely fresh. All this to say, come here to enjoy some tasty food and walk around State St afterwards!
